Reclaimed Untreated Grade 2 Hardwood Railway Sleepers

Free from treatment and usually manufactured from Tropical Redwood such as Jarrah/Karri etc… these are good quality, equally as robust as Grade 1 railway sleepers, but with a more rustic appearance and a higher degree of defects.

Due to the naturally open grain of Hardwood, these may have fairly heavy surface and end splitting, however this is not detrimental to the overall structural rigidity of the sleeper, and if anything enhances the sleepers weathered character.

Suitable for a multitude of uses where a more rustic appearance is desired, ranging from decorative features and soil retention to more engineering orientated applications, such as aggregate bays and roadway diversions.

As with Grade 1 Untreated Hardwood Railway Sleepers, these may also be used in any applications where the use of creosoted timber is prohibited.
